In-depth Workout Weight Bench Reviews

What is A Weight Bench?

A weight bench is a piece of equipment that is similar to a normal (e.g. park) bench, but is designed for use in weight training.

Weight Bench Benefits

A good weight bench will allow you to perform a number of compound exercises by sitting, lying, or standing on the weight bench while adjusting the racks that come with it.

You can perform squats, deadlifts, bench presses, rows, and shoulder presses etc with a weight bench that help build strength and develop muscle groups

There are weight benches that can be adjustable into decline, flat, and incline positions (FID).

How much weight should a beginner bench press

Bench press:

Warm up: 1 set of 20 repetitions

Follow up: 1 x 12 repetitions

If you a complete beginner, first use the bar only. Normally an Olympic bar will weight 45 pounds by itself and a standard bar will weight about 20 to 25 pounds. Most commercial gyms will use an Olympic barbell. Most home gyms will use a standard barbell.

After 20 repetitions you may add some weight (5 to 10 pounds) on each side of the bar. I suggest trying to add if you feel comfortable doing so. Start with 12 repetitions and then gradually add more weights as you progress. Keep a journal.

Remember to use clamps at the end of your barbell, for the weight not to slid off.
